Curacao

Risk Level: Three - Caution

[ about risk levels ]
On 3 Jan 2026, the FAA briefly restricted US civil operations in the TNCF/Curacao FIR following US military action in Venezuela, citing safety of flight concerns linked to elevated military activity in the region. That restriction was lifted within 24 hours, and subsequent FAA Notams advising caution were also short lived and have now been fully rescinded. There are currently no FAA flight bans or cautionary advisories in effect for the Curacao FIR. Earlier airspace warnings and late 2025 events had highlighted increased state and military aircraft activity, including reported losses of separation near TNCC/Curacao requiring ATC intervention.

Major Events:
3 Jan 2026: US airstrikes in Venezuela. FAA issues prohibition Notams affecting the TNCF/Curacao FIR.
Dec 2025: Two losses of separation were reported in the TNCF/Curacao FIR involving civilian aircraft and military tankers, including a JetBlue A320 and a civilian bizjet.
Nov 2025: TNCF FIR issues a Notam advising extreme caution when operating to or from TNCA, TNCC and TNCB due to unidentified aircraft activity.
