Oct 2026: The May 2025 ceasefire has largely held, but tensions remain. India and Pakistan both protested after a disputed border incident on Oct 2. Their reciprocal airspace bans also remain in place.

The primary risk is renewed military activity around Kashmir, which could expose aircraft to air-defence activity or misidentification. The ceasefire has reduced the immediate threat, but we continue to advise caution near Kashmir and the shared border because military activity could resume with little warning.
Major events:
May 2025: Four days of fighting in Kashmir included airstrikes and shelling. A ceasefire was announced on May 10. Both countries then barred each other’s aircraft from their airspace.
